Welcome to the official page of the 19th Istanbul International Go Tournament. The tournament will be held on the 28th and 29th of September.

This year’s edition will also have a quick tournament for players under the age of 16. The main event is still open to all players, and players under the age of 16 may participate in both activities.

Preregistration will be available until the 25th of September.

Venue

We strive to provide the best venue possible in every new installment of the Istanbul Go Tournament.

This years venue will be the Main Hall of the Beyoğlu Sports Complex of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, by the generous support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality via Spor İstanbul.

We kindly urge you to be aware of and abide by the rules of the facility.

Directions:
via Metro — Take the M1 line to the Şişhane station and follow directions to the Kasımpaşa exit. You will be on Ayni Ali Baba Sokak (road). Take the fourth road on the right and follow Derviş Ahmet Paşa Road until the fork in the road. Take the right on the road and continue until the main street (Tepebaşı Caddesi). Turn left and down Tepebaşı Caddesi, looking left you should see street signs directing you toward “İBB Beyoğlu Spor Kompleksi”.

Prizes and Awards

  1. First Place — 750 TL
  2. Second Place — 500 TL
  3. Third Place — 250 TL

As a McMahon tournament The Istanbul Go Open also prepares many surprises and small prizes for well performing participants that have participated in all rounds and with a win record over 70%.

Players in the U16 division with a straight win record will recieve medals.

Registration

Preregistration time has ended. Preregistration deadline was on the 25th of September. Registration must be finalized on arrival or at least until 09:00 local time on the first day of the tournament. We would like to remind our guests that preparations are made based on the list of preregistered players. In the unlikely event of demand surpassing projections, preregistering players will have precedence over newcomers. The risks and liabilities arising from not registering prior to the preregistration deadline rest solely on the players.

Attention: Preregistration is not equivalent to registering. It is required that preliminary registrants finalize their registration strictly before the mentioned deadline.

Since otherwise the proceeding of the tournament schedule will be compromised, participants that do not show up on time on the first day of the tournament without prior notice will be dropped from the first round.

For ease and speed of communication and last minute changes a whatsapp group will be formed, we kindly urge you to participate in the group. The 19th Istanbul Go Open whatsapp group will be deleted 1 week after the tournament ends.
